Summary
As EHS Engineer, you play a crucial role to ensure the environment, health, and safety of our workers in the workplace. You are entrusted to implement the workplace inspection, safety and health program and to ensure 100% compliance to all EHS related act and regulation.
Job Responsibilities
1. Empowering Safety
· Implement the workplace inspection to uncover the unsafe act and unsafe condition at the workplace and implement improvement to prevent accident at workplace.
· To review the work activities and develop the HIRARC and implement the risk control action.
· Review the work permit, issuance the work permit, monitor the work of vendor/contractor and closure of the permit.
· Review the visual control on the safety signages at workplace and monitor the employee compliance.
· Ensuring the emergency preparedness are in place such as fire fighting system, PA system, CCTV and first aid kit are in place.
· Provide emergency respond in any case of emergency arises and act as incident commander to normalize the situation.
· Plan and conduct emergency drill such as fire, chemical spillage and first aid drills.
· Ensuring the implementation machine safety by perform the machine buy off program.
· Provide orientation training to the newly join employee and refresher training related to EHS matter such as chemical safety, hearing conservation, emergency respond and etc.
· To ensure all the EHS related permit are renewed on time and work with authority officer to ensure all workplace inspection smoothly such as OSHWA, annual factory inspection and CF renewal.
· Organize and implement safety and health committee meeting and provide consultation to employee related to safety and health matter.
· Perform accident investigation, determine the root cause of the issue and implement the corrective action to prevent reoccurrence of the issue.
· Review and ensuring the company forklift drivers are competent and other related matter such as automatic guided vehicle are safe for operation.
2. Ensuring Health & Hygiene
· Assist in implementing health program such as CHRA, CEM, LEV monitoring, audiometric testing and health surveillance.
· Act as Hearing conservation administrator to ensure compliance to Noise Exposure Regulation 2019.
· Review the chemical imported are classified according to the CLASS 2013 regulation, review the SDS are maintained, and chemical label are according to the regulation.
· Perform monthly inspection on the LEV system and ensuring the LEV system is working in optimized condition.
· Be an expect in ergonomics matter and assist in conducting the ergonomics risk assessment and implement the risk mitigation action.
· Investigating any health-related issue related to working environment.
· Plan and implement the health promotional program.
3. Environment compliance
· To assist to ensure the management of Scheduled waste in the plant are accordance to the Scheduled waste regulation.
· Assist in the sample collection of wastewater final discharge and report the result of the monitoring to the management and authority.
· Promote the environment conservation program such as recycling and waste minimization program.
4. Support and Documentation
· To support the company initiative in ISO 13485 and other management system.
· Maintain documentation for EHS related matter such as inspection record, monitoring record and training record.
· To assist superior on any arising matter and other roles assigned from superior from time to time.
Qualifications
1. Education level: Minimum Diploma holder in Environment or Safety & Health or related field.
2. Year of Experiences: Minimum 2 years and above in related field.
3. Capability: Observant, able to work independently, knowledge in EHS regulation and good communicator.
4. Skills: Preparing report and presentation skills. Good problem-solving skills.
5. Language: Bahasa Melayu and English.
